Creativity, community and connections are what Rebecca Kent believes are the foundations of her success, alongside C-19, which the owner of Rove Culture says was a blessing in disguise for brokers.
Kent was recently named the Travel Entrepreneur of the Year for 2025 at Envoyage Awards, something she says was huge encouragement to keep pushing boundaries and creating meaningful travel experiences. “I was honestly shocked—I didn’t expect it at all,” says Kent. Touching on her achievements, Kent points to steady sales growth year on year, her creative marketing, and being involved in community initiatives. “I think that balance of growth and community is what helped me stand out.”
. . . C-19 Boost
Post-pandemic Kent believes that clients are looking for experience and trust—and, controversially, she says they may not always find that in high street stores, due to limited depth of knowledge. “Brokers offer flexible hours, locations, and service options, combined with the expertise that instantly creates trust. It’s a really privileged position to be in.”
. . . TIME Key
Kent also credits the TIME mentoring program to her success, especially going forward. “As brokers, we’re often so busy with clients that it’s hard to step back and work on the business itself,” she says. “I’ve always had a clear vision for Rove Culture, and with the support of my mentor, Andrew Gay, I’ve been able to bring a lot of new ideas to life and put a really structured plan in place to keep building on that vision.” Envoyage sponsored Kent’s participation in the mentorship program after she won the Emerging Broker Award in 2023, and this, she says, is just one of the way’s the group has supported her business, also highlighting the autonomy she has to choose whichever partners are right for each client. “That flexibility to make the best call in the client’s interest is invaluable—we get the backing of a strong network without losing the independence to create truly tailored travel experiences.” As for what’s next for Rove Culture, Kent is keeping her cards close to her chest. “Watch this space,” she told Travel Today.
