Honesty, Integrity and Transparency. That’s been the founding principles of the Global Travel Network (GTN) since its inception nearly 10 years ago— and it is what founders Allen Bell and Rob Beecher are largely crediting with the continued growth of their network.
From humble beginnings the still-modest pair joke about the runaway success of the business; but with more than 220 people, including more than 150 brokers and 60 suppliers at their annual conference in Brisbane over the weekend, the quiet achievers have built a substantial business. “From our newest members to our founding members, we’ve built a family—and we’re not just saying that,” says Beecher. “We operate by our principles and each and every GTN member is treated equally. There is no smoke and mirrors, and I think from the turn out [in BNE] I think you can say it’s paid off.” The group has enjoyed solid ‘double digit growth’ out of the pandemic and says that growth is showing no signs of slowing down. “It’s quite the opposite,” adds Beecher.
. . . Wider Membership
The once VFR-focused business now has a solid representation across the VFR and leisure sector. Suppliers at the conference said the addition of the leisure-focused Wanderlust Travel Experts has bolstered diversity of the business, which in turn has resulted in suppliers noting increased business from other GTN members. Cruise has been a growth market for GTN, while the company continues to work to improve efficiencies for its members. Beecher says the pair remains committed to delivering the best for their members. “We continue to grow, but it’s not all about the numbers—it’s about staying true to our brand and our people.”
. . . KUL Conference
GTN will celebrate its 10th year next year with its first conference in a long-haul destination—in Kuala Lumpur, in conjunction with Malaysia Airlines. Delegates from across GTN’s broker brands said they were ‘buzzing and excited’ about the prospect of a conference in Malaysia. GTN is already working with tour operators around pre-and post-conference famil opportunities. “We’re hoping to get as many of our members up there as possible to celebrate our 10th year,” says Beecher. “And I have to say none of this would be possible with our incredible GTN team,” he adds.
