Fight Centre Travel Group is celebrating growth across its New Zealand business and increased efficiencies in true Flighties’ spirit at its conference and awards in Auckland on Sat.
FCTG staged an ‘own it’ themed day urging the Flighties to own their destiny, own their results, and their reality, ‘and putting plans in place to grow from there,’ says New Zealand md Victoria Courtney. The momentum continued to build for the awards evening ‘there was just so much positive and so much to celebrate,’ adds Courtney. Overall FCTG’s New Zealand TTV is up and the company has seen growth across leisure and corporate. FCTG’s Kiwi corporate business has been a standout, says Courtney. “They’ve had an incredible year and both brands [FCM and Corporate Traveller] hit personal bests.” FCTG plans to further grow its Kiwi footprint, with a focus on strategic growth and efficiencies rather than just store numbers, notes Courtney. “We’re focused on the right store, in the right location with the right number of people in it, far more than we did before. We’re really just sweating our assets harder.” She says its Envoyage brand is resonating with its independent members, while its Infinity business ‘has definitely seen significant growth from outside our group’. “And our Travel Money brand has really delivered some strong growth this year because they’ve almost doubled their footprint.” Flight Centre’s South Island region has also won the most improved Flight Centre brand area worldwide. There’s 96 Kiwis heading over to Los Angeles this week for the company’s global gathering (up 10% on last year) along with a strong representation of Kiwi suppliers, says Courtney. “It’s been a big year for FCTG New Zealand, and none of it would be possible without the incredible people who bring our brands to life every day,” she adds.
. . . Hall of Famers
Courtney celebrated the many winners at the awards ‘who’ve truly gone above and beyond, led with purpose, and made a real impact over the past year’. The three FCTG Hall of Fame award winners were payroll manager Sally Jackson; supplier relationships and contracting leader Jono Norton; and Flight Centre St Lukes team leader Rhea Altoft. Corporate Traveller gm Angie Forsyth and FCM gm Kelly Thomas both won the 2025 Directors’ Award for their leadership in driving a standout year for the FCTG corporate business.
