Outback Spirit has announced its 2025 tours to Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, with record breaking rains in South Australia causing the lake to flood, a natural phenomenon that attracts an array of birdlife.
Record water levels are expected this season so Outback Spirit executive gm Jacquie Burnside says now is the time to see this ‘water-filled wonderland’. “Words can’t describe how beautiful Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre really is during flood years,” she adds. Itineraries on offer include the new five-day Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and Flinders Ranges Spectacular, which includes two scenic flights over Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, as well as the opportunity to explore Wilpena Pound, stay at the Monarto Safari Resort, and a Dawn Wildlife Safari adventure.
Prices start from AUD4595pp, with departures on 01, 16, 18 and 23 Jun, 21 Jul and 11 Aug. A six-day option is from AUD5159pp, also including the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Gardens, dinner at the iconic William Creek hotel and a journey along the Old Ghan Rail Line to the historic Coward Springs siding. Departures are available 08, 23, 28 Jun, 06,14 and 27 Jul and 04, 17, 24 and 31 Aug. Interested clients are advised to move fast, as previous seasons have sold out.
