A number of Fiji properties have under-gone renovations, so here’s our round-up.
The iconic Beachcomber Island Resort’s 42 rooms and public spaces have been upgraded and a new block of 16 rooms is slated to open in Sep.
Yasawa Island has undergone a full makeover over the past 18 months across its public spaces and bures. Highlighted changes include the addition of five new plunge pools, the Barava Spa is now a deluxe bure, and the opening of the new Delana Spa.
Holiday Inn Suva has welcomed new self-service check-in kiosks, a new bakery and a new recreation facility with a gym and sauna; while Grand Pacific Hotel Suva will soon undergo an 18-month renovation, to be done in phases, and upon completion will become an Intercontinental.
. . . InterCon Weddings
InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is creating a wedding venue on its golf course, slated for completion mid-2026 for weddings from 2027, as well as a new spa offering a hairdresser, make-up artist and nail tech.
The new venue will allow weddings to continue later into the night and will offer 180-degree views of the ocean. Commissionable packages will launch later this year.
Likuliku Lagoon Resort (pictured) has re-opened following a three month multi-million renovation, including a fortification of its overwater bures, upgrades to its bures and public spaces, 11 more plunge pools, a new restaurant and a new conservation hub.
. . . Tropica Opens
Plantation Island Resort has refurbished its lead-in garden rooms and poolside rooms, with three more garden bures. Six beachfront bures will be available from May.
Its central facility, which has been in development since mid-2025, continues with it due to be completed in early 2027, offering two restaurants, a bar and two new pools.
Fiji Gateway is adding 47 deluxe rooms opening this month, including two- and three- bedroom suites. Rounding out the list is Tropica Island Resort which re-opened 01 Apr following a nearly FJD6 million ‘refinement’.
This included two new deluxe pool villas, two new beachfront pool bures, and the addition of private pools to all beachfront bures. Public spaces have been upgraded including the spa, restaurants and bar, and the rooms have wifi.
