The first stage of Rumi on Louth, Australia’s first off-grid luxury property has opened with four suites , advises the South Australian Tourism Commission.
The second stage will offer more eco villas, a Japanese-inspired spa sanctuary, ‘elevated’ dining experiences, and expanded walking trails. The experience is priced from AUD600 per night for two people, including breakfast and airport transfers, in a king room and from AUD2500 per night, minimum two-night stay in The Retreat, which sleeps up to 10 people.
Meanwhile, Kauwi Cultural Cruises, led by a First Nations guide and a marine biologist, sails down Adelaide’s southern coast while teaching guests about history and the ocean, and telling local Dreamtime stories. Cost is from AUD98 adult/AUD88 child. Agents who have favourite clients can buy them a voucher for the cultural cruise from Experience OZ.
There are also several South Australian restaurants that pride themselves on using native and foraged ingredients including the Kuti Shack which offers seafood fresh from the sea it sits beside at Goolwa on The Coorong, the longest beach in Australia.
On Kangaroo Island guests can dine under the branches of a 150-year-old fig tree and eat the fruit from its branches. The aptly named eatery The Fig Tree is open for progressive lunches and dinners from Nov-Apr.
