Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI) will partner with Kiwi Holiday Insurance, from 15 Dec, in a move the pair says will merge SCTI’s expertise and infrastructure with Kiwi Holiday Insurance’s customer-led innovation.
SCTI has 40 years of experience, while New Zealand-run Kiwi Holiday Insurance, launched in 2014, says it’s known for its digital-first approach, agile operations and responsive customer service. “Together, we can offer more choice, better value, and greater peace of mind to Kiwi travellers,” says SCTI chief customer officer Jess Strange. Kiwi Holiday Insurance’s regional md Shannon Gereaux says SCTI is a natural fit. “They’ve earned the trust of generations of New Zealanders, and we’re proud to work alongside them to continue delivering what our customers love—simple, no-nonsense travel insurance that works.”

Under the deal SCTI will provide underwriting, claims management, and emergency assistance services. In turn, Kiwi Holiday Insurance’s operations will be brought into New Zealand, in a move said to strengthen support for customers and partners. Both brands will retain their offerings in the market while leveraging shared capabilities to better serve travellers.
