Rail Europe is continuing to expand its portfolio, as more routes open up across Europe and Kiwi rail demand continues to grow.

Last year was steady for the company out of New Zealand and Rail Europe’s regional manager for ANZ Grant Robertson says booking pat terns feel like they’re settling into a more normal rhythm after the strong rebound years.

The trade accounts for 80% of Kiwi sales and agents remain a focus for the company.

“Travel advisors remain central to our strategy in markets like New Zealand, as they play an important role in helping clients confidently plan and book complex European rail journeys,” says Robertson.

New additions such as the Britrail Pass further strengthen its offering, as the UK continues to perform well, he adds.

The Britrail Pass allows international visitors to explore Britain by train and is particularly attractive for those looking to combine several destinations across England, Scotland and Wales within a single itinerary, states Robertson.

The company has also noted growing Kiwi interest in night trains. New services such as the European Sleeper connect cities including Brussels, Amsterdam and Berlin, and there’s strong growth potential in Switzerland, where rail is an integral part of the travel experience, he says.

“We’re also seeing increasing interest in journeys that go slightly beyond the classic capitals, with travellers looking to include smaller cities and regional destinations as part of their European itineraries.”

He adds the expanded offering gives agents greater flexibility to build seamless, multi-country itineraries within a single booking environment.

. . . Sales Tips

Robertson urges agents to help clients plan ahead for peak Europe summer travel, especially on high demand routes, and to consider premium or first-class options when appropriate.

“Often the step-up in price isn’t as significant as clients expect, and the experience can make a real difference.” See more HERE.
