SATC regional manager for New Zealand Stacey Kerr says Adelaide is perfectly placed to deliver an unforgettable city escape, describing its as a food lover’s dream.
“From the buzzing Adelaide Central Market to hidden laneways and award-winning restaurants, the city offers travellers unforgettable dining experiences at every turn, making it the perfect destination for a shorter, city break,” she says.
Kerr recommends agents time clients’ city breaks with events like Adelaide Fringe, Illuminate or Tasting Australia. Do this, she says, and you have ‘the makings of a buck et-list-worthy long weekend away’.
As for what eateries are a ‘must’ in the city, Kerr recommends Adelaide Hills restaurant Thelma, known for honest food using local ingredients, and Esmay, an intimate produce-driven restaurant located in the former Hackney Hotel. Also worth a mention is Fugazzi, a New York-inspired Italian bar and dining room in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD.
