New Zealand founded travel – tech brand eSIMMY is looking to ramp up its ties with the New Zealand travel industry as the number of Kiwis using e-SIM cards to keep in touch while travelling continues to grow.
eSIMMY digital SIMs can be sold and installed well before travel. And the company’s next growth phase focuses on empowering travel agents through the eSIMMY Agent and Affiliate Program. “It works just like travel insurance, only simpler and faster,” says eSIMMY founder and ceo Patrick Bühler. “Agents can secure their client’s connectivity weeks before departure, earn commission on every sale, and rely on eSIMMY to handle everything from setup to support. With prices around 85% lower than standard roaming, it’s a win for both agents and travellers.” He says these low prices are a result of unique agreements with various countries, where competitors would additionally be negotiating for texts and calls, where eSIMMY only provides data. Agents can share a personalised link or purchase e-SIMS directly on behalf of clients, adding the cost to the overall booking or invoice. An eSIMMY eSIM lasts 180 days from installation, and the plan only activates once the device has entered the country.

eSIMMY will launch a dedicated trade campaign in 2026 with bonus commissions, co-branded collateral and short training modules. “Travel agents already curate every part of the journey; adding eSIMMY lets them deliver a connected experience and new commission potential in one simple step,” Bühler says.

The company has also launched its latest self-service e-SIM station in Auckland International Airport’s departures area The eSIMMY station allows travellers to purchase and install an e-SIM before departure for the country they are visiting, and the e-SIM activates as the traveller enters the country, allowing travellers to easily use data the moment they arrive.
