Some Middle East Tours Continue

Tours are continuing to operate in the Middle East, with many operators noting that there are still some countries in this region where things remain calm.

G Adventures advises that all of its travellers and staff are safe, as it does not operate trips in the most affected areas which include Iran, Israel, the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain. It does have six trips on the ground in Jordan. However, it advises that its local team there has confirmed that the situation remains calm and as such its tours are operating as scheduled.

“The safety of our travellers is always our top priority and our local team are monitoring the situation closely should any adjustments to itineraries be necessary,” says a spokesperson.

Intrepid Travel md for ANZ Brett Mitchell says the company’s tours are continuing to run as scheduled in Egypt, Jordan, Oman and Saudi Arabia. “Our teams are actively supporting travellers on the ground, particularly in the case of flight cancellations and delays,” he adds.

Intrepid does not operate trips in Iran, Iraq, the Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar or the UAE. Mitchell adds that it will be reviewing its stance towards Middle East travel regularly as the situation unfolds. “The safety and wellbeing of our customers and teams is our number one priority,” he adds.

Innovative Travel confirmed yesterday that its tours to Egypt and Jordan continue. “The Middle East is over 5,000,000 square kilometres with over 18 countries, with many not impacted and operating as normal,” says md Robyn Galloway.
