Scenic Group has unveiled plans to grow its fleet by three ships, bound for Europe and Asia.

It’s a move its chairman and founder Glen Moroney says reflects its confidence in the strong demand for its unique approach to luxury cruising.
“With Scenic Ikon in build for delivery in 2028 and five Emerald Cruises yachts and river ships already confirmed, this announcement marks the next phase of our strategic fleet growth,” he adds. The order consists of one Emerald Star Ship and two ultra-luxury Scenic Space-Ships, to be constructed by MKM Yachts.
The first to debut in Jun 2027 on the Douro River is Emerald Nova, which will operate two itineraries in Portugal, including the 11-day Douro Highlights: Porto, Salamanca & the Wine Valley cruise.
The Scenic Aria is also making a debut in 2027 on the Douro River and will be launching in Sep and offering voyages such as the 11-day Unforgettable Douro and eight-day Delightful Douro.
Then on the Mekong, Scenic Spirit II will launch early 2028 sailing through Vietnam and Cambodia.
These three ships are in addition to Scenic Group’s previously confirmed new ships, including Emerald Astra which will sail on the Rhine, Main and Danube from May 2026, and Emerald Lumi on the Seine River in 2027. See more HERE.
