The Kiwi delegation at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami includes New Zealand Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Louise Upston, who is attending the event with the goal of getting more ships in New Zealand waters.
CLIA Australasia’s Joel Katz says Upston’s engagement with industry leaders was a positive step in rebuilding confidence among cruise lines.
“Having Minister Upston here to join our discussions and meet with industry leaders sends a clear message that New Zealand is serious about sup porting cruise tourism, not only in local Kiwi communities but in destinations throughout Australasia and the South Pacific.”
Upston says they’re all commit ted to the same thing, getting more visitors to come to New Zealand. “We’re open for business and we love cruise,” she says.
