PS Australian Star’s First Sail & Save

The PS Australian Star will make her debut sailing next month, as Murray River Paddlesteamers confirms 23 Feb as the date of her inaugural voyage.

This will follow her christening on 20 Feb, where the wood-fired five-star vessel will be blessed by godmother Kathryn Mackenzie OAM, a respected Australian tour ism industry expert, at historic Perricoota Station.

The new paddlesteamer will cater to 38 guests and offer multi-night cruises along the Murray River ex Echuca year-round, exploring Perricoota Station and the sur rounding riverlands.

The first commercial cruise is APT Luxury Travel, which has chartered close to half of the riverboat’s sailings for 2026/27.

Murray River Paddlesteamers director Craig Burgess saying there has been incredibly strong demand for PS Australian Star, with heavy book ings for 2026, and 2027 already fill ing fast. He says there’s been a clear demand for a world-class, five-star experience that matches the stan dards of Europe’s great waterways.
