Journey Beyond’s trade events in Auckland and Christchurch have been hailed a success, held as the group enhances its Kiwi trade commitment and bookings from this segment surge.
It has been a strong start to the year for the brand, with year-to-date trade sales up 77% compared to Jan and Feb 2025. Local bdm Thomas Gentz points out that Journey Beyond Rail alone has seen an increase of 68%.
This is a continuation of last year’s trade trend, with trade sales in 2025 increasing by 33% compared to 2024, he adds.
The two trade events last week included an update from the group’s manager for international markets Renee Cornelissen, who gave insights into key market and sales insights.
Gentz also updated the agents on the importance of the Kiwi market to the company and highlighted its expanding collection.
Gentz says it was fantastic to have Cornelissen in New Zealand, celebrating with the group’s trade, NTO, STO and airline partners ‘the incredible results Journey Beyond’ has achieved in 2025 in the New Zealand market.

Hot on the heels of the showcases is a new appointment as Olivia Van Zanten steps into a new Journey Beyond business development executive role.
Van Zanten will be based in Christchurch and work alongside Gentz on the ground. Gentz says she will play a vital role in growing sales in the South Island while providing local support for trade partners.
