There is good money to be earned in selling river cruising says Avalon president Pam Hoffee, who is on board the inaugural Avalon agent training charter with a mission to arm ‘new to river’ agents with the tools to confidently sell river cruising and Avalon.

Hoffee (pictured) has been a key influence in the continued evolution of the brand and was on hand to offer agents a guided ship tour.
She also highlighted the brand’s relaxed luxury feel on board—a concept that she says resonates with Kiwi travellers.
“The vast majority of our bookings come from agents in New Zealand and Australia, so this [famil] is a great opportunity for these agents to build a business, to find a new niche,” says Hoffee. “…the price point is such that the commissions are valuable com missions for agents, and with our support team it’s very easy for agents to book.”
Compared to all of the moving parts of an FIT package, Hoffee points out that with one phone call agents can make a booking, and then have the support of Globus family of brands.
