As Taiwan’s popularity continues to rise, the destination’s tourism office is highlighting some of the island’s must-see attractions.

For clients keen to get their bearings, Tourism Taiwan recommends a visit to Taipei 101, one of the tallest buildings in the world, and known for its views of the city.
The more adventurous are recommended hiking up Elephant Mountain, for views overlooking Taipei’s skyline.
Those keen on culture can add a visit to one of Taiwan’s mountain towns, such as Jiufen, home to cobbled streets lined with traditional tea houses, souvenir shops, and street food stalls.

The island’s temples offer an insight into Taiwan’s cultural heritage, with highlighted options including Songshan Ciyou Temple which is located next to the bustling Raohe St Night Market, the more serene Lungshan Temple, and Itiengong Temple, best visited at night.
Taiwan is famous for its cuisine, and one of the best ways to experience this is via its night markets. Highlighted options include Huaxi Street Night Market and Shilin Night Market.
Honorable mentions also go to the scenic cable car ride to Maokong which is famous for its tea culture and picturesque landscapes, and the pottery capital of Yingge where clients will find workshops, galleries and shops. Fortune-telling Street off Songjiang Road offers everything from palmistry to tarot card readings.

Taiwan Tourism also highlights the nation’s Sun Moon Lake, an alpine lake that is accessible from New Taipei via high-speed rail and bus. Urge clients to visit early in the morning and watch the sunrise from Chiang Kai-Shek Pier, it adds. For those clients visiting late Feb early Mar, it is cherry blossom season (pictured) with the blooms found at Yangmingshan National Park, Wujek, Tianyuan Temple and at Alishan National Scenic Area.
