A bumper festival line-up is set for Ireland this year, says Tourism Ireland.

The Bloomsday starts in Dublin 11-16 Jun celebrating the James Joyce novel Ulysses, with readings, performances, tours, talks and culinary events across the city.
The West Cork Chamber Music Festival is 25 Jun–05 Jul and will have performances from chamber music soloists and ensembles in Bantry, while the Galway Film Fleadh 07-12 Jul is perfect for movie buffs.
The Spraoi International Street Arts Festival 31 Jul-02 Aug in Waterford features street performances over three days, and the Dublin Horse Show 05-09 Aug includes international showjumping, best show horses and a best dressed competition for attendees.

Sep holds the Boyne Valley Walking Festival 12-20 Sep, where hikers can join guided walks to discover some of Ireland’s ancient sites, and the Saltwater Festival 05-13 Sep celebrates Ireland’s surf culture.
The Wexford Festival Opera (pictured) 15-31 Oct stages opera gems, and Kilkenny Animated 02-04 Oct is a festival of visual storytelling hosted by five-time Academy Award nominated studio Cartoon Saloon.
To end the year, the Allingham Arts Festival 04-08 Nov honours the work of poet William Allingham by celebrating creative writing, music, art, design and history, and the Westport Sea2Summit 07 Nov is a chance to run or cycle County Mayo’s dramatic landscape and closes with live music across multiple venues.
