Tourism Fiji ceo Dr Paresh Pant says the nation has an ‘urgent need’ for 5000 new rooms, because its visitor growth is being constrained by room supply.

Thankfully, he says, there are a number of new openings over 2026/27. Yavu Collective, which owns Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, is planning four new additions. The four-star 118-room Na Tomba is set to debut on Denarau later this year.
Options range from king rooms to two-bedroom apartments, and there will be two pools, a restaurant, a burger bar, gym and event space.
Opening in Aug 2026, Nuka Loaloa has 76 rooms including apartments and villas, a pickleball court, pool, Hamman, a fitness centre and spa. The 176-room five-star Vatu Talei is due to open on Denarau in the first quarter of 2027.
Amenities will include a cinema, multiple dining options, a waterslide facility, a lazy river and the largest swim up bar in the South Pacific, and a rooftop club for VIP guests.
Also debuting Q1 2027 will be the four-star Tawamudu, offering 144 self-contained suites on the Coral Coast. Amenities will include a beach club, a kids club and a spa.
