The Globus Family of Brands has fielded a high volume of positive agent feedback following the completion of its tour director events around New Zealand.

The company brought out a tour director from Europe and another from Canada to give agents a different perspective on its product, and what the experience is like on the ground for clients—and answer all of ‘those’ questions, from hotel locations across the brands, to tipping.
Budapest-based tour director Anthony Micaleff, who has been with the company for 28 years, says the way people travel and their expectations have changed—so GFOB has continued to adapt to the changing market.
These days he likens his role to that of a personal concierge, as he helps clients plan their free time, and troubleshoot for those that tried to make their own plans, and failed.
. . . More Free Time
Globus and Cosmos Europe coach tours now only have up to four hours of driving a day, as well as more itineraries with two-night stays to allow plenty of free time each day, he adds—as well as pointing out that its welcome and farewell dinners are now hosted at local restaurants, as opposed to hotel restaurants.
Micaleff also highlighted the new small group departures brochure, launched late last year for tour groups of around 15 people, as well the Cosmos Swiss Rail trip where clients travel by train and explore freely while their bags are transported to their next hotel.
All of the hotels on this tour are within short walking distance of a station, bar in Zurich, where a coach will take them to the hotel.
. . . Avalon
GFOB’s Megan Hornblow also updated the agents on Avalon’s unique selling points including its beds facing the view, its panorama suites which the company says are 30% bigger than the industry standard and generous bathrooms.
The itineraries offer classic, discovery and active shore excursions—as well as specific active and discovery departures; while Hornblow also noted a growing number of Kiwi cruise are combining back-to-back itineraries.
