Utah’s Year-round Kiwi Appeal

Utah is well-known for its adventure offering, but it’s the accessibility of the destination that is said to make it an appealing destination for Kiwis.

Utah Office of Tourism md Natalie Randall says access and convenience is a huge selling point for Utah compared to other US states, as is the fact it is a four-season destination.

“As experiential travellers, Kiwis will find unparalleled access to a diverse range of adventures, from a snowy alpine getaway at one of Utah’s 15 world-class ski resorts to a red-rock canyoneering adventure near one of our five national parks.”

And while these adventures year-round appeal for travellers, it’s win ter when Kiwis punch well above their weight in terms of visitation, she adds. “The Australia and New Zealand market remain the number one international market for ski for the states based on the latest Ski Utah surveys.”

The STO remains committed to supporting its international partners, she says, and that includes plans for trade webinars highlighting new products, destination training resources and collaborations with tour.

“We are also in the final stages of the development of our Utah Specialist program version 2.0,” she adds.

. . . New

Utah is also set to welcome new product, with Randall noting the largest ski resort expansion in industry history has just taken place in Utah with Deer Valley resort now double the size.

“This drastically increases the opportunity for longer stays and further terrain exploration.” Additionally, Rocky Mountaineer is launching Canyon Spirit in Apr, connecting Salt Lake City to Moab. “For agents, this opens the door to combining ski, rail, and adventure into a single itinerary, appealing to travellers who value unique experiences,” says Randall.
