Silversea has revealed more details about The Cormorant at 55 South, the cruise lines’ new 150-room hotel in Puerto Williams, ahead of the property’s Oct debut.

“The Cormorant at 55 South represents an exciting new chapter for Silversea, extending our commitment to luxury travel to Antarctica,” says Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea.
“This unique property will offer our guests the same hallmark comfort and personalised service they expect while on board our ships and will immerse them in the rich culture, traditions, and natural beauty of the region.”
. . . Signature Spaces
The purpose-built hotel has five signature spaces including The Fireplace Lounge, where guests will find a variety of plush seating, fine wines, and signature cocktails, as well as sweeping vistas of the Patagonian landscape.
Latitude 55 is the property’s restaurant and will feature menus celebrating Patagonia’s rich flavours, while the ‘social heart’ will be Bar Sur, offering teas and small bites by day and curated wines and spirits by night.
Uncharted is an onsite boutique selling goods by Chilean artisans, as well as expedition essentials. Silversea says the rooms will be ‘thoughtfully appointed’ with warm wood tones, items by Chilian craft people, and either forest views or water views.
The new property is exclusively open to those passengers on Silversea’s Antarctica Fly Cruise itineraries, allowing guests to skip the Drake Passage, and will operate seasonally Oct-Mar. See more details HERE.
