DFW Airport: Festive Flight Advice & Tips

The festive season is upon us and to help the Texas-bound keep things stress free, Dallas Fort Worth Airport has some advice.

  • The first tip for Kiwis is to arrive at least three hours prior to any international flights, and at least two hours before any domestic flights. As a rule of thumb, agents should recommend clients add 60-90 minutes to their normal airport arrival schedule.
  • Tip two is download the DFW Mobile App, as this offers real time updates on parking availability and rates, security wait times, terminal alerts, and construction updates.
  • Using public transport is the third tip, with heavy traffic expected, and construction near Terminals A, B and C also potentially causing delays.
  • The DART offers direct access to Terminal A from Plano and Downtown Dallas via the orange line, while the silver line offers direct access to Terminal B from Plano, with this travelling via Richardson, Addison, Carrollton and Coppell.
  • Another option is Trinity Metro’s TEXRail, connecting downtown Fort Worth to Terminal B via Grapevine, and Trinity Railway Express, connecting Dallas and Fort Worth to the CentrePort/ DFW Airport Station, with terminal transfers via the TRE Link shuttle.
  • The fourth and final tip, for those who are feeling a little lost at the airport, is to look out for people wearing gray and bright orange. These are DFW’s airport ambassadors, who can help with directions.
