San Franscisco Travel has curated a best new eats list from Parisian-style bistros to smash burger spots and a sports bar for women’s sports.
First up is Meski, which offers contemporary Afro-Latin cuisine with an Ethiopian influence and an adventurous cocktail menu. For Mexican-Italian fusion food, suggest clients try Modí, while Argentinian-Italian dishes can be sourced from Morella. Other new fusion spots to recommend in the City by the Bay include Outta Sight Pizza II, which has flavours such as Peking duck. Bombay Brasserie offers Indian food with a French twist and Altamirano by Chef Carlos Altamirano serves Peruvian dishes using local Californian produce. Also new is neighborhood kitchen Fifty Vara, serving creative takes on San Francisco cuisine, as well as French spot Le Parc Bistrobar from Michelin-starred chef Bruno Chemel. Food hall Saluhall has welcomed Cheezy’s Artisan Pizza, which has gluten-free options available, and burger spot Smish Smash. On the Embarcadero, new options include new café Parachute Bakery and the full-service Arquet Restaurant which offers a menu of wood-fired dishes, as well as Mediterranean spot Alora, and Parisian-style bistro Bon Délire. Honourable mentions go to Filipino fusion spot Señor Sisig, Japanese-style café and cocktail lounge Shoji and the soon-to-open The Happy Crane, a contemporary Chinese restaurant.
. . . Drinks
As for bars to recommend, new SFO spots include Bar Brucato which has a distillery, tasting room, and restaurant offering California- Mediterranean cuisine. Big Finish, a new laidback wine tavern in the Mission District, offers elevated bar food, and Vietnamese wine bar GiGi’s serves wagyu hot dogs. Rounding out the list is Rikki’s, the Bay’s first bar prioritising women’s sports.
