Oceania Cruises has added four more solar eclipse sailings for 2026 to view the cosmic event, all up offering five cruises to experience the phenomenon.
On 12 Aug 2026 it will be the first total solar eclipse visible from Iceland since 1954 and the first time it will be visible from Reykjavik since 1433, says Oceania. The collection is across four vessels—Oceania Marina, Oceania Insignia, Oceania Sirena and Oceania Vista—and the cruise line says guests will be ‘perfectly positioned’ off the shores of Ireland, Iceland, Portugal, and the UK.
During the eclipse itself, there will be a series of deck parties, offering prime viewing, and celestial festivities. There will also be solar-themed culinary delights such as solar eclipse cookies, star-shaped sandwiches, half-moon shrimp empanadas, eclipse-inspired passion fruit macarons, and more.
Sailing options include the Oceania Marina 14-day Sailing in the Path of 100 Percent Totality departing Copenhagen for Reykjavik on 30 Jul; Oceania Vista’s 25-day Sailing in the Path of 93.03 Percent Totality round trip ex London 02 Aug; Oceania Insignia’s 12-day Sailing in the Path of 97 Percent Totality Reykjavik to London 03 Aug; Oceania Sirena’s 12-day Sailing in the Path of 94 Percent Totality London to Barcelona; and Oceania Vista’s 15-day Sailing in the Path of 93.03 Percent Totality Belfast to London.
The ships will all have solar experts aboard, it adds. See more details HERE.
