Watching an NBA game in Phoenix, axe throwing in Flagstaff and desert yoga in Sedona were among the highlights of Brand USA’s sports-themed famil.
The trip, from Brand USA, the Arizona Office of Tourism, Delta Air Lines, Infinity Holidays, Sports Where I Am, and Alamo Rent A Car took eight Kiwi and Aussie agents across the two states, travelling along Route 66.
The agents hit the road in Las Vegas, bound for Sedona, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Winslow and Flagstaff.
Jassu Singh from Flight Centre Riccarton Mall, says going on the famil has changed the way he sells the destination, especially in regards to road trips. He says his clients can start their road trips in Las Vegas, rent a car and visit the Grand Canyon, and then continue to drive onto L.A., visiting places in between that he adds they’d never see if they were to fly between the cities.
His trip highlights were Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, the Lip Smacking Food Tour in Las Vegas, and the helicopter ride over the Strip. “We were quite surprised how amazing it is and how many things it has to offer all age groups as well.”
Other highlights included a guided sunset hike and BBQ dinner at Stagecoach in Sedona, Sunrise hot air ballooning and watching the Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers in Phoenix.
Treena Moore from Galaxy Travel World Travellers, says her highlights included the ‘spectacular’ helicopter ride over the Strip, as well as the hot air balloon ride over the desert, and the fact that the famil was in Las Vegas at the same time as a Warriors NRL game.
