AKL Airport & Air NZ Among Most Trusted

Air New Zealand and Auckland International Airport are among New Zealand’s most trusted companies, despite the controversy surrounding the cost of the former’s airfares, and the latter’s multi-million-dollar infrastructure program.

Air New Zealand ranked third in the 2025 Kantar Corporate Reputation Index, behind Toyota and Pak’nSave, with it receiving the highest scores for trust and responsibility. On the recognition, NZ ceo Greg Foran says being acknowledged for attributes such as responsibility and trust is something the entire team will be very proud of. “I’d like to acknowledge the 11,500 Air New Zealanders who go above and beyond every day to look after our customers and each other,” he adds. “Their commitment, passion and care make our airline unique —we love what we do and are very proud to serve our country.” NZ was third in last year’s index, but prior to that, sat in top spot for nine consecutive years. The airport featured ninth in the index, its highest-ever ranking, scoring highly on trust and leadership and making strong gains in the responsibility ratings. AKL ceo Carrie Hurihanganui says the result provided confidence that the airport was on the right track with its infrastructure program. “Infrastructure isn’t easy and there will always be differing opinions, but we’ve worked hard to proactively tell our story,” she says. “It’s great to know we have the trust and support of the communities we serve as we build for New Zealand’s future growth and prosperity.” TVNZ was fourth on the Kantar Corporate Reputation Index, followed by Lotto, AA Insurance, New World, and Samsung; behind AKL was Kiwibank, Bunnings, Zespri, Mitre 10, Watties and Gull.
