Air New Zealand’s expansion of digital ID trials, announced on Fri, is a positive step toward making travel simpler and more seamless for customers, says TAANZ ceo Julie White.
“Reducing friction at the airport— whether that’s less time in queues or fewer documents to manage—can significantly improve the overall travel experience,” she adds. For travellers, the key will be confidence, says the TAANZ boss.
“As these technologies roll out, it’s important that privacy, security, and ease of use remain front and centre. When done well, digital identity has the potential to take the stress out of travel and give Kiwis greater confidence from check-in through to boarding.”
