Intrepid Travel has launched two new trips exploring US National Parks with a focus on activism—as the tour operator looks to support the parks which have been battling major staff cuts and a proposed USD1 billion cut in funding.
The two limited edition ‘Active-ism’ trips are hosted by Intrepid guides and influential US activists with a goal of connecting travellers around a shared mission of protecting the parks. “As a purpose-driven company, we recognise the role that tourism can play in supporting both people and protected areas,” says md the Americas Leigh Barnes. “With these Active-ism trips, we hope to raise awareness and foster discussion around the challenges facing US National Parks, while empowering travellers to advocate on their behalf and have the trip of a lifetime.”
