Wilson, the iconic volleyball character from the 2000s film Cast Away has washed ashore in Fiji and found happiness.
The volleyball is the star of a new short film from Tourism Fiji, titled Wilson’s Happily Ever After, which follows Wilson’s journey after being discovers by a young girl on the beach of Serenity Island Resort. The film follows the duo as they explore Fiji, highlighting the destination’s range of experiences, from biking old sugar cane railway tracks through rainforests to partaking in a traditional Kava ceremony. Tourism Fiji ceo Brent Hill says the Wilson’s Happily Ever After campaign allows the NTO to showcase the intimate, everyday stories of Fiji. “Grounded in heart, beauty, happiness and humanity, the tribute film demonstrates how Fiji embraces travellers and showcases the versatile experiences on offer.”
