It’s been one year almost to the day since Vanuatu was rocked by an earthquake, and the destination is more than ready for tourists to return, having restored key tourism infrastructure and reinstated full air connectivity.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office has been working closely with trade partners to support traveller confidence, and it would appear this trade-focused approach is paying off, as it reports New Zealand visitor numbers are steadily increasing. VTO ceo Adela Issachar Aru says the recovery reflects both the resilience of local operators and the enduring relationship with New Zealand. “New Zealand has always been a valued market for Vanuatu, and the support we’ve had over the past year demonstrates that connection.” She adds that agents, wholesalers, and airline partners have been instrumental in helping keep Vanuatu front of mind. “Their ongoing support has contributed significantly to our progress.”
Looking ahead, VTO says it will continue building trade capability, with more information on the destination and agent resources available HERE.
