The Lookout Lounge Opens At AKL

Air New Zealand’s The Lookout Lounge opens today at Auckland International Airport, a new space opening ahead of the construction of NZ’s new Koru Lounges.

The new lounge is located on Level 2 and is slightly closer to all departure gates than the existing Koru Lounge. It provides an extra 200 seats to lounge customers and will be open during peak travel times, 0500-1000 and 1530-2115. The space looks out onto the AKL runway and has been designed with the theme of Aotearoa’s Great Walks. A range of tables and booths of different heights and sizes are available for guests, with plenty of power outlets to charge devices. Opening in time for the peak holiday season, NZ says The Lookout Lounge and the existing Koru Lounge will operate alongside each other, with customers welcomed at either lounge depending on availability. A full buffet and a chef station with made-to-order dishes will be available, as well as a bar and barista station with New Zealand beer and wine, and Coffee Supreme.

NZ gm customer Alisha Armstrong says The Lookout Lounge will remain open while the new Koru Lounges are under construction, with completion expected mid-2027. “It’s a working space, with a casual and adventurous vibe.”

When eligible NZ passengers check in, they can find their assigned lounge via the Air NZ app. Passengers will be assigned The Lookout Lounge or Koru Lounge dependent on their needs and lounge availability. See more HERE.
