Norwegian Cruise Line is highlighting six European ports that it says are underrated gems, perfect for visitors who want to live like a local for a day.
Riga in Latvia features on its nine-day Baltic: Germany, Norway and Sweden cruise. It has the Riga Central Market for local cuisine, the Troksnu iela art scene, Agenskains Market and historic Moscow District. Guests on the nine-d a y Mediterranean: Italy, France and Greece cruise can check out Salerno in Italy, including the Giardino della Minerva botanical garden, old Fornelle district for pottery, and books and vintage treasures at the Libreria Antiquaria Vecchi Libri. The nine-day Greek Isles: Santorini, Athens and Mykonos includes Valletta (Malta) with the Lascaris War Rooms, Casa Rocca Piccola miniature palace, and backstreets off Republic Street for local gems.
