MSC Moves To Meet Market Trends

MSC has revealed the five factors it believes will influence clients’ travel booking patterns in 2025.

The increased demand for cooler destinations, aka cool-cations, gets a mention and MSC urges agents to highlight its voyages to Northern Europe—or Alaska, which MSC will visit for the first time in 2026.

Next year MSC predicts increased demand from those taking extended work breaks in the middle of their careers to travel. The cruise line highlights its World Cruise as an option for such travellers. The cruise sails ex Europe in Jan 2025 and again in 2026, allowing clients to explore 32 different countries whilst only having to unpack once.

Set-jetting travel is another trend, which is travel inspired by television or movies. On MSC Opera’s Mediterranean voyages MSC says clients can explore into the old city of Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in Game of Thrones. Culinary tourism

continues its popularity, with MSC saying more travellers than ever are now planning trips specifically to explore unique restaurants or culinary experiences. MSC high-lights its culinary shore excursions, which visit Italian wineries, sample tapas in Spain and offer cooking classes in Greek olive oil mills. The final factor influencing 2025 travel, says MSC, is an increasing desire for all-inclusive experiences, especially ones that offer exclusivity. The MSC Yacht Club, a dedicated premium area within its ships, offers a dedicated restaurant and lounge, 24-hour butler service and private sundeck, all with keycard-only access.
