A new five-day, four-night itinerary has been added to the Indian Pacific options, extending its eastbound journey ex Perth to Sydney and allowing more opportunities to explore Australia by train, says Journey Beyond Rail.
The change allows for new immersive experiences, and features all-inclusive meals, wines, and beverages. Each leg of the extended itinerary is marked with tailored Off Train Experiences that are included in the fare.
The exclusive dinner for guests at Seppeltsfield Estate in the Barossa Valley, showcasing the flavours and wines of the region, is set to become a signature says Journey Beyond gm Alberto Isaza.
. . .More Choices
Part of the Seppeltsfield Estate experience includes a traditional ‘Firing of the Barrel’ display, which is when an oak barrel is set on fire and charred to add taste to the wine it will eventually contain (pictured above). The spectacle is part of the curated wine and food pairing and 100-year-old vintage Tawny tasting experience, during the evening.
Other options in the new itinerary include the Super Pit, one of Australia’s largest gold mines, the Hannans North Tourist Mine and exhibits and the Curious Kalgoorlie local tour (Kalgoorlie); a late night bonfire in the tiny town of Cook on The Nullarbor; The Living Desert State Park, bush-inspired tucker, a painting class and a tour with a drag queen (Broken Hill); and the Scenic Skyway, Echo Point lookout, a bushwalk and high tea (Blue Mountains).
