More Demand For Wellness Over Luxe

Traditional luxury travel has some competition, with one trend forecast predicting that wellness will trump luxe as travellers look more and more to getaways that are centered around both physical and mental wellness.

Kayak’s What the Future predicts that by the end of the decade holidays that support longevity and wellness will rival traditional luxury escapes in popularity. Tour operator UTracks also reports a growing appetite for wellness-focused holidays. “Our travellers want to feel recharged, not just during the trip, but afterwards,” says gm Kate Baker. “Our itineraries naturally align with this shift.”

. . . Trips

UTracks’ itineraries feature walking and cycling, stays in small locally run lodges, and spend time in nature, all of which Baker says are what people are looking for in 2025. “When people return home feeling clearer, stronger, and more connected to the places they’ve visited, that’s a good sign our tour balance is right.” For agents looking to take advantage of the trend, Baker highlights itineraries such as the seven-day Mont Blanc Guided Walk, which is a guided trek around Western Europe’s highest peak, which UTracks says offers a full-body reset among glaciers, meadows and mountain villages. Other options include the six-day Amalfi Coast Walk which combines coastal trails with local Italian food, and the seven-day Lake Bled and the Julian Alps Circuit, a self-guided trek through Slovenia’s alpine landscape which caters well to those seeking a digital detox.
