Clients can now hire out a private island in the Maldives for just a few hundred dollars a day, thanks to the reopening of Lonubo, the private island belonging to Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru Resort.
Located just 200 metres from the luxury resort, and accessed via private boat transfers, there are day trips out to the island available, as well as evening packages, including the option to have a gourmet BBQ dinner and watch a film under the stars.
A four-hour daytime hire of the island starts at USD250 per couple, around $426, adding USD65 for each additional person, around $110. This includes access to the island’s lounges and sunbeds, as well as beverages. Clients have the option to add a gourmet picnic lunch, with this experience starting at USD690, around $1177 per couple.
For those who want to go all out, the Starlit BBQ Beach Dinner starts at USD1750 per couple, which is less than $3000. From here, clients can add enhancements like a beachfront bonfire, gourmet canapés, or a private movie screening.
