Small Luxury Hotels of the World has revealed its Wellbeing Collection—15 hotels across the globe that host next-level, wellness-focused activities.
The Restless Traveller report commissioned by SLH states that out of 6000 adults across UK, US and Australia 60% said modern life does not allow for true rest, and 89% believed they could achieve holistic rest through travel. Some 49% of the respondents said nature-based travel allows for the most rest, followed by wellness focused trips. SLH coo Richard Hyde says there has been an increased desire for inner sustainability from guests. “They can immerse themselves in nature-based experiences, the local culture, educational workshops and wellness-focused facilities to feel enriched, unplug for their daily lives and truly relax.” The list is backed by a panel of SLH’s Wellbeing Industry Experts, and includes the Acro Suites of Crete, Greece—a clifftop wellness retreat with workshops on the vagus nerve, ancient Greek bathing rituals, cacao ceremonies and healthy local cuisine. Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary has been selected as a Himalayan paradise among the pine forests of the Neyphu Valley, near Paro. Here, a Traditional Bhutanese Medicine doctor delivers a health diagnosis and sets a course for guests to achieve a better balance of mind, body and spirit through Bhutanese medicine and cultural rituals.
