Jane Hanson from You Travel Bethlehem has experienced what Espiritu Santo has to offer first hand, after winning Vanuatu Tourism Organisation’s sales incentive at the end of last year.
She spent her time at Aore Island Resort staying in a bure, which she says was an absolute delight, with ocean views and gorgeous tropical gardens. As for the resort itself, favourites were the ‘outstanding’ food, free snorkelling gear, large pool and fat tyre bicycles (great for cycling on the roads around Aore). Hanson took the free boat shuttle to Luganville and visited the World War 2 Museum, took a local taxi to Million Dollar Points which she says has an amazing story, and did a day tour to Champagne Beach, Port Olry and one of the four blue holes. “Champagne Beach was of the most stunning beaches I’ve ever been to with beautiful fine coral sand, incredibly clear water where freshwater and seawater mix as well as amazing snorkelling with coral and an incredible array of tropical fish.” Her advice for agents selling Vanuatu is to ensure those flying on Solomon Airlines download something to watch as there is no IFE, ensure to grab their bags before heading through Customs at Port Vila, and prepare for check-in to be a little slower on the way home.
