The first of Jetstar’s revamped 787s has entered service—and 10 more are undergoing the major multi-million-dollar cabin refit as part of an upgrade continuing into late 2027.

Said to be the most significant trans formation in the 787’s history with JQ, highlights include the business cabin growing from 21 seats to 44 featuring new seats with a 38-inch pitch and seven-inch recline, as well as enhanced cushioning.
In economy there’s new RECARO aircraft seating, there’s wifi, and the addition of six lie-flat crew rest bunks means the aircraft can travel up to 16 hours.
These aircraft won’t feature on trans-Tasman flights. JQ operates its 787s to destinations across Asia, though it does note the extended range capability will give the airline greater flexibility to grow its international network in the years ahead. See details HERE.
