Google will soon to able to help travellers find their lost luggage, thanks to a new share item location feature in Find Hub.

Google revealed earlier this month that Android users who have added a tracker tag to their luggage can now share its location link with participating airlines, allowing the carrier to track missing items. Note that the user remains in control of who can see their item’s location, device location data is encrypted, and in addition to being able to stop sharing at any time, links automatically expire after seven days for added protection. More than 10 major global airlines have partnered with Google on this, including Air India, China Airlines, the Lufthansa Group, Saudia Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines and Turkish Airlines, with more carriers including Qantas to be added soon.

Google is also working with Samsonite to embed Find Hub technology directly into its latest designs. Find out more HERE.
