Exploring Sth Aussie Via The Murray

The Murray River in South Australia is the third largest navigable river in the world, and the South Australian Tourism Commission has put together a few holiday suggestions for agents.

For the adrenaline junkie clients Loveday Adventure Park, operates 40km of four-wheel drive tracks alongside the river, with muddy trails, rocky slopes and water crossings. While those who like things at a slower pace, the park also has 24km of riverside wilderness where clients can camp, kayak and paddleboard. See details HERE.

For the ‘active relaxers’ there’s the Murray River Trails four-day guided hike.

Clients walk up to 14km by day, and then cruise via houseboat by night. Guides will share stories of the river during the trip, and SATC also notes the houseboat features a top deck spa. Find out more HERE. More luxurious is the private, customised wine tours offered by Riverland Classic Limousines. The bespoke tours include travel in a 1929 Dodge limousine to visit small, family-owned, boutique wineries, distilleries and breweries. Check it out HERE.

For those clients exploring the river via a road trip, the SATC recommends stopping for a day or two at the Historic Overland Corner Hotel, one of the oldest standing structures in the state. It offers Riverland’s largest selection of independent craft beer, wine, spirits and local produce with caravan parking on-site. See more details HERE.
