Eurail On The Top Kiwi Rail Trends

Eurail is expanding its regional Europe offering, which is expected to be popular with Kiwi travellers embracing slow rail travel, and looking to less-crowded parts of the continent.

The company says nearly 4000 New Zealanders travelled with Eurail in the first six months of the year, and it adds that it wasn’t the capital cities seeing the strongest growth year-on-year. This title went to Florence for the Jan-Jun period, compared to the same time last year, with France’s Narbonne also seeing growth, as well as Karlsruhe and Nuernberg in Germany and Belgium’s Brussels and Ghent. With Kiwis showing interest in quieter European destinations, Eurail highlights some of the new regional routes it has recently added which are likely to appeal. This includes the Zagreb-Ljubljana-Pula regional train between Croatia and Slovenia, the line between Poland’s Jelenia Gora and Karpacz, the Toulouse to Luchon route in Southern France, the line between Zaragoza and Canfranc in Spain, and Germany’s Gerolstein and Cologne route.
