Celebrity Cruises is set to make waves in the river cruising sector, as it announces plans to expand into river cruising with the signing of 10 ships.
Celebrity River Cruises will offer premium river cruises in Europe, which will open for bookings as early as this year. It’s a move that comes as Royal Caribbean Group president and ceo Jason Liberty says the group wants to elevate the river cruise experience and meet the growing demand for intimate, culturally enriching travel experiences.
It will also further the group’s ability to keep guests within its ecosystem of holiday offerings, adds Liberty. “With about half of our guests having experienced or intending to holiday on a river cruise, we know they will enjoy Celebrity’s elevated offering on the river,” he adds.
