Visit Britain has launched a new campaign highlighting the film and television locations Kiwis can visit in the UK, ahead of the NTO’s roadshow later this year.
The campaign, starring Great Britain, highlights the destination’s role in films such as Mission: Impossible, Bridget Jones, House of the Dragon and Harry Potter, with a video designed to take viewers on a ‘cinematic
journey’ through Britain. VisitBritain says its screen tourism research shows that more than nine out of 10 potential visitors to the UK would be keen to visit film and TV locations during a trip.
. . . Roadshow Event
To amplify the campaign and drive bookings, VisitBritain is working with partners including Emirates for a roadshow across Australia and New Zealand (dates to be confirmed). The roadshows, says VisitBritain,
will help agents to ensure they are well equipped to sell key film and TV-inspired products and experiences across Britain.
This builds on a recent famil, which saw trade members from Australia and New Zealand explore Cumbria and Liverpool, which included visits to key film and TV locations. “Using film and TV as the hook we’re telling the story of Britain today, showcasing our dynamic and diverse destinations and putting our welcome centre stage,” says VisitBritain ceo Patricia Yates. VisitBritain is currently predicting that 257,000 Kiwis will head to the UK in 2025.
