Avoid The Crowds In The Philippines

Clients heading to the Philippines can find seclusion and tranquility away from the crowds at a range of off-the-beaten-path destinations. says the Philippine Department of Tourism.

Jomalig Island in Quezon Province is an authentic island experience, with sandy beaches, sandbars, hidden coves and clear turquoise water offering beach huts, family-run homestays and camping. Calayan Island in the Babuyan Group of Islands, is home to Sibang Cove, reached by boat or by hiking from Calayan Town. It is said be one of the Philippines best snorkelling spots and camping is also an option here with the NTO citing stargazing as an ultimate overnight experience. On the way to Tawi-Tawi or Panampangan Island, travellers can take a two-hour boat ride past colourful Sama-Bajau (sea gypsy) villages to swim, snorkel and indulge in freshly caught seafood grilled in front of them on the beach. On Canigao Island off Leyte there are stunning coral reefs around the tiny island which can be walked around in 20 minutes, it adds. Meanwhile, Balut Island in Davao Occidental province is a four-six hour boat ride from General Santos City and is, says the NTO, a volcanic paradise offering unique experiences beyond its pristine beaches such as dense forest, rolling hills and hot springs as well as a hot springs beach. The island is also known for its coral gardens.
