Australia is front and centre for the Kiwi trade this month—as the recent Tasman capacity boosts are set to further grow Kiwi travel to Australia.
Tourism Australia this month staged its first Signature Experiences trade event in Australia, then last week Tourism & Events Queensland launched its new brand campaign in New Zealand, Jetstar has launched two of its three new Tasman services—and Visit Sunshine Coast staged its agent roadshow events.
. . . Luxe Famil
The Signature Experiences of Australia Trade Famil Program, in partnership with Tourism WA, the South Australian Tourism Commission, Tourism & Events Queensland and Air New Zealand brought 21 Kiwi agents to experience the product first-hand. The agents were spread across four famils, with some exploring WA’s Perth and Broome, some headed to the Murray River and Barossa, one group headed to The Gold Coast and Scenic Rim and another to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. Then the luxury-focused agents joined suppliers in Adelaide for a two-day update including an educational workshop at McLaren Vale’s d’Arenberg Cube. There was a focus on the Signature Experience collective’s premium experiences across Australian Wildlife Journeys, Cultural Attractions of Australia, Discover Aboriginal Experiences, Great Golf Courses of Australia, Great Walks of Australia, Luxury Lodges of Australia, and Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia. The group collectively sampled products from 24 of the 173 Signature Experience’s members available across the seven collectives, says Tourism Australia’s Dan Wright.
