Active holidays are trending in 2025, as one survey reveals 67% of adults are prioritising less crowded destinations and more adventurous travel.
The results of the global survey by Booking.com come as no surprise to UTracks, with its gm Kate Baker saying travellers are seeking active and authentic experiences now more than ever. “We’ve recently expanded our active Europe experiences in regions including the Pyrenees, Dolomites, and the Balkans to meet this desire for personalised exploration,” she says.
. . . The New
Among the new self-guided and small group itineraries available from UTracks this year is the 12-day Peaks of the Balkans Highlights, which follows the Balkans Trail across the Accursed Mountains in Albania and Montenegro, with stops in remote villages and boat rides on Lake Koman.
Also new is the eight-day Pyrenees Circuit Hike, a self-guided trip through Pyrenees National Park with highlights including Lake Estaing and the thermal village of Cauterets, and the eight-day self-guided Albania Coastal Walk which journeys ex Karaburun Peninsula to the Ceraunian Peaks. For keen cyclists there’s a 13-day Prague to Krakow Cycle, which visits six UNESCO World Heritage Sites and countless castles, or the eight-day Baltic Sea Cycle ex Lübeck to Stralsund.
