AC: Unprecedented Kiwi Demand

Air Canada is celebrating both Canada Day and ‘unprecedented’ levels of demand from New Zealand for the 2025 northern hemisphere winter period.

Over the past year the carrier says the Kiwi market to Canada is up 10% with AC manager Australia and New Zealand Vic Naughton attributing the rising demand to factors including price and Canada’s reputation as ‘North America’s most welcoming destination’. “Canada is currently offering good value for money compared to winter rivals, and at the same time, in the current geopolitical environment, the country’s renown as a safe, stable and friendly holiday destination is making it more attractive than ever.” AC has reported an increase in the percentage of Kiwi passengers continuing on to Europe (particularly London), however, the total number of passengers flying this route remains a small percentage of the overall mix, adds Naughton. Travel agents, he says, account for the vast majority of AC’s bookings from New Zealand as the carrier reiterates its commitment to the Kiwi trade. “Since we launched our Auckland-Vancouver seasonal service in 2019 we have worked hard to support our retail partners through a range of initiatives,” adds Naughton. “In addition, we are rolling out a variety of sales support initiatives, including our latest Sell & Win incentive…”

. . . Win A Trip

Agents need to sell a transpacific AC ticket 12 May-31 Jul and fill in an entry form to be in with a chance to win two economy tickets to any destination on AC’s Canada and US network. AC’s 2025/26 seasonal Auckland- Vancouver service will operate up to five times a week 30 Nov-27 Mar. AC’s local represeantive James Leslie is pictured above delivering some Air Canada treats.
