A road trip around NSW where nobody misses out has been drawn up by Destination NSW, which says the 11-day round trip ex Sydney offers something special for everyone.
Starting with exploring Sydney Harbour, the itinerary takes in Circular Quay, the Opera House, BridgeClimb Sydney, whale-watching, sailing and a dinner cruise. The Rocks, shopping and markets, and SYD’s famous beaches, character suburbs and food market, are included. Then it’s off to the Blue Mountains for iconic landscapes, a glass bottom cable car ride, stargazing, a wilderness walk or mountain biking, and a traditional morning or afternoon tea. In the Hunter there’s a self-guided wine tasting tour, and a hot air balloon ride before heading to Port Stephens for beaches, dolphin and whale watching, kayaking and paddleboarding, and a koala sanctuary. Later there is time to quadbike, 4WD, sandboard or horse or camel ride at the Stockton Sand Dunes. On day 10 its time to turn around and head back via the Central Coast and places like Firescreek Winery which makes liquor from native plants, Aboriginal storytelling, horse and pony rides and trail riding at Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures. Finally, it’s back to SYD via the Hawkesbury River region with a stop at Broken Bay Pearl Farm in Mooney Mooney for oyster tasting, a cruise, art and jewellery. From there, says the STO, it’s less than an hour’s drive to SYD airport to drop off the car and get on a plane. Accommodation and dining options
